In a society where the lights never run out, people compensate for collctive interests by sacrificing their personal lives and working overtime. This compensation is the implicit gaslighting of collective work, where low rooftop, uniforrm ceiling, and lighting constantly remind individuals that they are part of this organized system.
SEVERANCE is presented in the form of book design, using folding techniques to present two states of division, in a visually expresive way, while expressing the continuous state of work. More and more people want to completely seperate their lives and works, leading to have two clear modes. Through this project, I hope to raise people’s awareness of social spiritual discipline of individual compensation for the collective.
